Working sensitively

The advantage of using external consultants is that we can bring neutrality, experience of similar processes in other organisations and a knowledge of what is needed both to develop strategy and to implement it.

We understand that using external consultants to develop policy and strategy could potentially be problematic. To get round any sensitivities, we make sure that we are well briefed before starting work.

Whenever possible, we form a small steering group representing different parts of the organisation or partnership. We work with this steering group to help them think through how they will make best use of the outputs from our work together.
