Supervision

From its earliest days, Framework has recognized the importance of encouraging mutual accountability and professional development. We do this through a system of mutual supervision whereby each of us has responsibility for supervising another colleague. The supervision arrangements are reviewed regularly and changed every year or so to ensure that we all have an opportunity to work closely with each other.

Each individual monthly supervision session lasts around 90 minutes. During the session we review current work, explore ideas for developing the network and generally check in with how we are. Because we are located in different parts of the UK, we use telephone and - increasingly - internet-based communications to keep in touch with each other. We all find the supervision sessions hugely rewarding and they are seen as one of the most valuable benefits of being a Framework member.

Contact isn’t limited to these more formal supervision sessions, of course. We speak to each other regularly to discuss work or simply for a chat. Working with organisations requires you to have an organisation of your own to support you - and that is Framework’s core strength to its members.
